Baseball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Shenandoah

Shenandoah proved they can win big last Friday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Tipton Blue Devils 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on four straight.

Drew Fredenburg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Fredenburg wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Renz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits Renz has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Collin Osenbaugh, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Shenandoah hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive games.

Shenandoah pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Tipton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Shenandoah will be playing at home against Madison-Grant at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tipton, they will head out on the road to take on Maconaquah at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
