Baseball Recap: Mt. Gilead Takes a Loss

Mt. Gilead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 14-3 to the East Knox Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-6 on Wednesday.

Hayden Somerlot made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Mt. Gilead's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for East Knox, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mt. Gilead is set to challenge their familiar foe Cardington-Lincoln at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, East Knox will take on rival Danville at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
