Baseball Game Preview: Central Hardin Bruins vs. Eastern Eagles

The Central Hardin Bruins will face off against the Eastern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Hardin has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Eastern will come in with three straight wins.

Central Hardin fell victim to Owensboro and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-0 to the Red Devils, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Eastern made easy work of Fern Creek on Monday and carried off a 14-4 victory.

Eastern got a great performance from Jake Bloecker as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Niko Williams and Matt Collier did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Collier went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Collier a new career-high. Blake Benavidez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Eastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 8.8.

Eastern's win bumped their record up to 13-18. As for Central Hardin, their loss dropped their record down to 17-14.
