Softball Recap: Wayland Picks Up 21st Straight Win at Home

Wayland came tearing into Saturday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 25-6 margin over the Constantine Falcons. Considering the Wildcats have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Wayland pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Constantine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-7.

Wayland and Constantine should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Wildcats will challenge Cedar Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 126). Meanwhile, Constantine (ranked 85th) will meet Centreville (ranked 275th) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
