Basketball Recap: Golden Valley Comes Up Short

Golden Valley lost against Saugus back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Golden Valley Grizzlies fell 62-51 to the Saugus Centurions. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Golden Valley lost, don't look at Alex Villejo. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points and three steals. What's more, Villejo also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kenyen Andrews, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

Golden Valley's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Saugus, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

Golden Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-58 defeat against Valencia on the 3rd. As for Saugus, they have also already played their next match, a 93-45 win against Castaic on the 5th.
