Basketball Game Preview: Bethel Jaguars vs. Vallejo Redhawks

The Bethel Jaguars will head out on the road to square off against the Vallejo Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Bethel and six for Vallejo.

It was a proper cat-fight when Bethel faced off against Albany on Thursday. Bethel was beaten by Albany 75-48. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 517th, while the Cougars are ranked 149th).

Meanwhile, Vallejo was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 61-60 to Pinole Valley. While the Redhawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 17-12 in the first quarter.

Bethel's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Vallejo, their loss dropped their record down to 6-19.

Bethel barely slipped by Vallejo in their previous meeting back in January, winning 42-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bethel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
