Football Recap: Dunwoody Comes Up Short

After soaring to 31 points the game before, Dunwoody was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were beaten by the Woodward Academy War Eagles 42-13. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the War Eagles are ranked 57th).

It was another big night for Ryan Harrigan, who threw for 321 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt for Woodward Academy. Those 321 passing yards gave Harrigan a new career-high. Joshua Isom helped Harrigan out on the ground, rushing for 91 yards, while also picking up 35 receiving yards and one score.

Dunwoody's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Woodward Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Dunwoody and Woodward Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Wildcats see the field they'll take on Chamblee at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Woodward Academy, their break will end when they face Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
