Softball Recap: Chariton Continues Home Dominance on Friday

On Friday Chariton's undefeated season almost came to an end. They had just enough and edged out the Davis County Mustangs 4-2. Those four runs were actually the fewest the Chargers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Chariton's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average this season. As for Davis County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Chariton will square off against Albia on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chargers 0.8, the Blue Demons 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Davis County has already played their next contest (against Winfield-Mt. Union), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
