Basketball Recap: Midlakes Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Midlakes's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They secured a 62-58 W over the Early College International Cobras. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 59-43 back in December of 2025.

Midlakes found their leader in sophomore Finnan Damann, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Damann has scored all season. Marcus Tookes was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 11 points and three blocks.

Midlakes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The victory snapped Midlakes' losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-11 record. As for Early College International, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Midlakes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 79-35 loss against Geneva on the 10th. Early College International has also already played their next contest (against Harley Allendale Columbia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
