Basketball Recap: Chalmette Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked E.D. White

Chalmette hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They managed a 62-58 victory over the E.D. White Cardinals on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Owls' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Cardinals are ranked 106th).

Chalmette has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for E.D. White, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 11-2 record.

Chalmette will challenge John Ehret at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for E.D. White, they and Bourgeois will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
