Basketball Recap: King's Academy Comes Up Short

King's Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were dealt a 67-21 defeat at the hands of Horizon Christian. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, King's Academy couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Horizon Christian, the victory got them back to even at 3-3. Surprisingly, this marked their fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Horizon Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lawrence Long, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Long is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawn Anderson, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 15 points along with six boards and four steals.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King's Academy will take on Legacy Christian in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Horizon Christian, they will be home for the holidays to greet Mission Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon Christian will be up against the Wolverines' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
