It's playoff time, and Cypress Creek had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bellaire Cardinals on Thursday, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since March 25th.

Jocelyn Orosco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Cypress Creek's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emma Garza, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Cypress Creek's win bumped their record up to 12-15-1. As for Bellaire, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-15-1 record this season.

Cypress Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bellaire: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
