Basketball Game Preview: Autauga Academy Generals vs. Thorsby Rebels

The Autauga Academy Generals will head out to square off against the Thorsby Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Autauga Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Friday, Autauga Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Autaugaville, but they still walked away with a 36-30 victory.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-18, which was the final score in Thorsby's tilt against Saint James on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Trojans are ranked fourth).

Autauga Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.5 points per game. As for Thorsby, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.

Autauga Academy strolled past Thorsby when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 46-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Autauga Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
