Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shadow Ridge). They slipped by the Desert Pines Jaguars 68-67 on Thursday. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jaguars, too.

Shadow Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaslyn Jefferson, who posted 17 points. Jefferson's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Ava Williams was another key player, putting up 15 points.

When it comes to explaining why Desert Pines lost, don't look at Taveah Oliver. Despite the final result, she went 11 of 19 en route to 28 points. The dominant performance gave Oliver a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ashanti Stewart, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 boards and nine assists.

Shadow Ridge's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Desert Pines, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Shadow Ridge has already played their next contest (against Coronado), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Desert Pines has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Bishop Gorman.
