Soccer Game Preview: Cave City vs. St. Joseph

The Cave City Cavemen will take on the St. Joseph Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cave City has five straight wins, St. Joseph has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Cave City's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Lonoke with a sharp 7-0 victory. Cave City's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph came up short against Conway Christian on Tuesday, falling 8-2.

Cave City's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those three games. As for St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
