Softball Recap: Imagine Prep Comes Up Short

Imagine Prep dropped their record down to 9-5 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Heritage Academy Heroes, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Storm's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Heritage Academy, the win keeps they at an undefeated 14-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

For Heritage Academy's part, Cadence Baugher and Addy Gillespie were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Baugher tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Gillespie struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. At the plate, Baugher went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run, while Gillespie went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Payton Duncan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Jordyn Taylor was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

As of now, neither Imagine Prep nor Heritage Academy have any future games scheduled.
