Soccer Game Preview: Coronado vs. Amarillo

The Coronado Mustangs will face off against the Amarillo Sandies at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Coronado's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Coronado's offense. They came up short against Monterey on Tuesday, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, Amarillo waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Dons get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Amarillo might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by three goals or more this season.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Amarillo, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Coronado might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Amarillo when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
