Basketball Recap: The Academy of the Holy Cross Takes a Loss

The Academy of the Holy Cross lost against Bishop O'Connell two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans fell 76-67 to the Bishop O'Connell Knights.

Carly Sweazie had an outrageously good game for Bishop O'Connell as she posted 29 points. The dominant performance gave Sweazie a new career-high in points. Amanda Bates was another key player, putting up 13 points.

The Academy of the Holy Cross has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Bishop O'Connell, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

The Academy of the Holy Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop O'Connell, they will square off against Our Lady of Good Counsel at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
