Recap: Liberty Lions vs. Urbana Hawks
The Liberty Lions pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Urbana. Liberty has not had much luck with Urbana recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
It was another big night for Sean Pyles, who scored 17 points along with five steals for Urbana. Another player making a difference was Christian Whitehead, who scored eight points along with eight assists and two steals.
Liberty's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-5. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 3.33 points. As for Urbana, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Liberty's road trip will continue as they head out to face Century at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Century and Liberty are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Urbana, they will be playing at home against Middletown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
