Basketball Recap: Polo Panthers vs. Wellington-Napoleon Tigers

Polo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 51-23 defeat at the hands of the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers. The Panthers were down 39-18 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Wellington-Napoleon found their leader in freshman Ayden Ellensohn, who went 9-for-14 on her way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ellensohn has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cali Russell, who posted four points along with five assists and five steals.

Polo's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Wellington-Napoleon, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-18.

Coming up, Polo will welcome Lathrop at 6:00 p.m. on February 20th. As for Wellington-Napoleon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 43-25 victory against Orrick on the 14th.
