Basketball Game Preview: Elba Lancers vs. Pembroke Dragons

The Elba Lancers will venture away from home to challenge the Pembroke Dragons at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Elba has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Pembroke will arrive with three straight wins.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-39, which was the final score in Elba's tilt against Notre Dame Academy on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pembroke). They strolled past Medina with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 55-41.

Pembroke now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Elba, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Elba came up short against Pembroke in their previous meeting back in January, falling 53-41. Can Elba avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
