Softball Recap: Superior Comes Up Short

After flying high against Miami on Tuesday, Superior came back down to earth. Superior fell 11-7 to the Williams Vikings on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.

Stephanie Lopez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilliana Fritz, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Superior's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Williams, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

Superior wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 14-11 loss against Prescott on the 20th. As for Williams, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-1 win against El Capitan on the 22nd.
