Ninilchik was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cook Inlet Academy Eagles. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ninilchik took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Ninilchik's loss dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Cook Inlet Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-15 record this season.

Ninilchik does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cook Inlet Academy, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Susitna Valley on the 20th.
