Basketball Game Preview: Brick Township Green Dragons vs. Middletown North Lions

The Brick Township Green Dragons will challenge the Middletown North Lions on Wednesday.

Last Thursday, Brick Township lost to Rumson-Fair Haven on the road by a 54-36 margin. The Green Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Middletown North was able to grind out a solid victory over Brick Memorial on Wednesday, taking the game 39-28. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Mustangs are ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Middletown North is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points over those games. Brick Township now has a losing record of 7-8.

Brick Township might still be hurting after the 37-12 defeat they got from Middletown North when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Brick Township avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
