Volleyball Recap: El Segundo Takes a Loss + How To Watch

El Segundo lost against Mira Costa back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Mustangs. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Mira Costa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Shelor, who had eight digs and four aces. What's more, Shelor posted two assists, the most she's had over her last six matches. Reese Stringer was another key player, getting 12 assists and eight digs.

El Segundo's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Mira Costa, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

El Segundo and Mira Costa should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 78th) will meet Palos Verdes (ranked 214th) at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mira Costa will square off against Torrance at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (8 vs. 397).
