Basketball Recap: Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool Takes a Loss

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool was the 56-30 winner over Fort Worth THESA when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool Warriors fell to the Fort Worth THESA Riders 58-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Riders are ranked 495th).

When it comes to explaining why Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool lost on Saturday, don't look at Toby Pike. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 19 points and 17 boards. Pike is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 25 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Timothy Jones, who posted 13 points.

Fort Worth THESA's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micah Ragsdale led the charge by to rack up 12 points along with eight boards and five assists. Will Day was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 30-9. As for Fort Worth THESA, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-18 record this season.

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool will challenge Red River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Worth THESA does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
