Basketball Recap: Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton Beats Leroy-Ostrander for Their Tenth Straight Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals 71-38. Winning may never get old, but Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

LeRoy-Ostrander's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Benita Nolt, who posted 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Maria Almaraz-Nolt, who had three points and four steals. That's the most steals Almaraz-Nolt has posted since back in November of 2024.

Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points over those games. As for LeRoy-Ostrander, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-25.

As of now, neither Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton nor LeRoy-Ostrander have any future games scheduled.
