Basketball Recap: Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Comes Up Short

Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central lost against McEwen back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers had to suffer through a 69-32 loss at the hands of the McEwen Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Warriors are ranked 98th).

McEwen was led to victory by Laila Downs and Shana Bohanon. Downs dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Bohanon dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Downs' evening made it 21 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Ellie Littleton was another key player, putting up ten points.

Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for McEwen, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central will host South Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for McEwen, they will be playing at home against Dickson County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in McEwen's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches.
