Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Ocean Lakes' Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Ocean Lakes extended their postseason success on Friday against Riverbend. They blew past the Bears 17-10. The result was nothing new for the Dolphins, who have now won 16 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Ocean Lakes got a great performance from Aiden Skalski as he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Skalski has posted since back in April.

At the plate, Ryan Gocio was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Nagle, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Ocean Lakes is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Riverbend, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-6.

Coming up, Ocean Lakes will take on Cox at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dolphins 2.5, the Falcons 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Riverbend does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
