Basketball Recap: Maya Nahar Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Newman

Western Reserve Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Newman on Tuesday. The Western Reserve Academy Pioneers walked away with a 57-45 victory over Newman. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Western Reserve Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maya Nahar out in front who went 7-for-10 en route to 17 points and eight boards. That's the most points Nahar has posted since back in January of 2024. Brooklyn Hall was another key player, shooting 42% from the field to rack up 14 points and seven rebounds.

Western Reserve Academy's victory bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Newman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Western Reserve Academy has already played their next game, a 57-52 defeat against Tilton School on the 11th. Newman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
