Basketball Recap: Davenport Piles Up the Points Against Gonzales

Davenport won the last time they faced Gonzales and things went their way on Friday too. The Davenport Wolves breezed by the Gonzales Apaches to the tune of 74-37. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Davenport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joseph Danielsen, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Danielsen a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Mckinney, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points along with six steals and five assists.

Davenport's record is now 19-3. As for Gonzales, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Davenport will welcome Steele at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Steele's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 19 contests. As for Gonzales, they will head out to take on Fredericksburg at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Fredericksburg will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Gonzales surely won't give up without a fight.
