Softball Recap: Central Cabarrus Takes a Loss

Central Cabarrus was the 17-3 winner over South Rowan when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Central Cabarrus fell just short of South Rowan by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday.

Chloe Phillips was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. That home run was her first of the season. Renee Roseman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Central Cabarrus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Central Cabarrus' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for South Rowan, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Central Cabarrus has already played their next game, a 7-6 win against East Lincoln on the 13th. As for South Rowan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Carson on the 21st.
