Softball Recap: Rice Lake Comes Up Short

Rice Lake suffered their biggest loss since May 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 16-5 to the New Richmond Tigers. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Rice Lake saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Kunz, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Kunz hit this season. Keegan Johnston was another, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Rice Lake has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for New Richmond, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

While Rice Lake had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
