Baseball Recap: Canastota Drops Season-High Score on Sherburne-Earlville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canastota). They came out on top against the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders by a score of 10-5 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Red Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Devon Silvernail, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Robert Raynore, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Canastota always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Canastota back to even at 4-4. As for Sherburne-Earlville, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Canastota will venture away from home to take on Westmoreland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sherburne-Earlville, they will host Waterville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
