Softball Recap: Taylor Griffins vs. Roosevelt Bears

Taylor had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 7-9 to make it five. They came up short against the Roosevelt Bears, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

As for Roosevelt, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for Roosevelt, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Roosevelt's part, Devlyn Massengill and Brooklyn Chlipala did most of the damage at the plate: Massengill got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Chlipala went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Shaylan Gourlay, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Taylor is set to take on their familiar foe Anderson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Roosevelt will square off against rival Lincoln Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
