Volleyball Recap: Lucas Takes a Loss

Lucas was the 2-0 winner over Clear Fork when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cubs fell just short of the Colts by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Lucas started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-21, 25-21.

Myah Midkiff paced Lucas' offense, picking up seven kills. Midkiff got some help from Emma Brown and her ten assists. Olyvia Culler controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Lucas dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Lucas and Clear Fork will both be playing Northmor the next time they take the court. The Colts will host the Golden Knights at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, while the Cubs will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
