Basketball Game Preview: Oxford Wildcats vs. Bluestem Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oxford has three straight victories, Bluestem has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Oxford took a 27-point defeat the last time they faced off against West Elk, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Oxford came out on top in a nail-biter against West Elk on Friday, sneaking past 67-64.

Meanwhile, Bluestem lost 61-35 to Eureka on Friday.

Bluestem's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Oxford, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Oxford suffered a grim 44-23 defeat to Bluestem in their previous matchup back in February of 2017. Can Oxford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
