Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Seffner Christian walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Tuesday and snuck past 74-71. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Seffner Christian as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
In what's become a running theme this season, Santa Fe Catholic gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 78-20 win over Four Corners. Given Santa Fe Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Four Corners is ranked 633rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Santa Fe Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hudson Dykhuizen, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Danilo Stankovic was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Seffner Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.
Seffner Christian ended up a good deal behind Santa Fe Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, losing 61-45. Can Seffner Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
