Softball Recap: Saugus Takes a Loss

Saugus lost against Gloucester back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sachems came up short against the Fishermen, falling 10-2. The game marked the Sachems' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ariana Chianca made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Saugus and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Gloucester, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Saugus will square off against Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gloucester, they will challenge Winthrop at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Fishermen are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
