Recap: Monta Vista Matadors vs. Cupertino Pioneers
The Monta Vista Matadors were the 28-14 winner over the Cupertino Pioneers when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Monta Vista took a serious blow against Cupertino on Friday, falling 41-14. Monta Vista has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Among those leading the charge was Shen Hernandez-ong, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 130 yards and three touchdowns. Arvin Hosseini was another key contributor, rushing for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Monta Vista's loss was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.2 points per game. As for Cupertino, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Monta Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cupertino also has no future games currently scheduled.
