Baseball Recap: Central Beats Weedsport for Their Third Straight Win

Central extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 7-1 in the process. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Weedsport Wolverines, sneaking past 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Saturday.

As for Weedsport, they dropped their record down to 7-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Weedsport's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Patrick Whitman, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Brandon Thomas also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will welcome Indian River at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Weedsport, they will host Cato-Meridian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
