Volleyball Recap: Wolcott Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Paul Catholic last Friday, Wolcott came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Seymour Wildcats on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Wolcott was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 25-15.

Among those leading the charge was Kyra Pernaselci, who had five aces.

Wolcott's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Seymour, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wolcott will take on rival Holy Cross at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Seymour is set to square off against their familiar foe Woodland Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
