Softball Recap: Granada Comes Up Short

Granada fell victim to Saint Francis and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Matadors were not able to get on the board.

Kamryn Brannon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Granada saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn ?Yaya? Sosa, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Sosa snagged this season.

Granada's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Saint Francis, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Coming up, Granada will challenge Dougherty Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saint Francis, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-1 win against Benicia on the 11th.
