Football Recap: Gordonsville Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Gordonsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Van Buren County Eagles 20-18. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Van Buren County had strong showings from Ellie Grissom, who rushed for 99 yards on only five carries, and Cara Mills, who picked up 45 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 50 yards.

Gordonsville's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Van Buren County, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-4.

Gordonsville has already played their next matchup (against White County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Van Buren County, they will challenge Bledsoe County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
