Volleyball Recap: Sahuaro Comes Up Short

Sahuaro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Canyon del Oro Dorados. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dorados from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

Alexia Gould paced Sahuaro's offense, picking up five kills. Gould got some help from Delarenta Ochoa and her seven assists. Gould was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Sahuaro's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Canyon del Oro, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Sahuaro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Tanque Verde on the 19th. As for Canyon del Oro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Mesquite on the 19th.
