Football Game Preview: Genoa Central Dragons vs. Nashville Scrappers

The Genoa Central Dragons are taking a road trip to square off against the Nashville Scrappers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Genoa Central has struggled recently with eight defeats in a row, while Nashville will arrive with six straight victories.

Genoa Central's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Arkadelphia on Friday. They took a blow against the Badgers, falling 63-0. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Badgers are ranked 21st).

Nashville hadn't beaten Malvern on the road since November 1, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Scrappers breezed past the Leopards to the tune of 42-14. Considering the Scrappers have won five matchups by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Genoa Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Nashville, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Genoa Central was taken down by Nashville 35-0 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
