Basketball Recap: Alonso Takes a Loss

Alonso suffered their closest loss since January 30th on Friday. They fell just short of the Southeast Seminoles by a score of 62-59.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southeast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamarri Bivens, who went 9 for 18 on his way to 24 points. With that strong performance, Bivens is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Jalen Byrd was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Alonso's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Southeast, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Alonso wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 45-40 win against Nature Coast Tech on the 28th. As for Southeast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-55 victory against Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate on the 28th.
