Oxford Academy hasn't had much luck against Artesia recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Patriots will head out to challenge the Pioneers at 3:15 p.m. Oxford Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Oxford Academy made easy work of Glenn and carried off a 10-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Oxford Academy let Danelia Paniagua and Libby Denkers run wild. Paniagua went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles, while Denkers went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Paniagua has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kuhu Gupta, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Artesia came up short against Whitney two weeks ago, falling 18-12.

Kaleyse Foster led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Paulina Nava, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Oxford Academy's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Artesia, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oxford Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Artesia struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Oxford Academy might still be hurting after the 28-6 defeat they got from Artesia when the teams last played on April 8th. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
