Softball Recap: Uintah Falls Short Against Ranked Payson

Uintah faced Payson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Utes fell just short of the Lions by a score of 6-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Utes in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

Kenadee Mcallister was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Addison Buist was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Uintah's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Payson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Uintah will face off against Wasatch at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wasps have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.47 runs per game on average), something the Utes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Payson, they will take on Salem Hills at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
