Volleyball Game Preview: Pinelands Regional Wildcats vs. Barnegat Bengals

Pinelands Regional is 8-2 against Barnegat since October of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Bengals at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pinelands Regional is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Absegami 3-0. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-20, 25-10.

Pinelands Regional got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayla Kline out in front who had 15 digs and four aces. Jayda Quigley was another key player, getting ten kills, eight digs, and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Pinelands Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Barnegat was able to grind out a solid win over Cinnaminson on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1.

Barnegat now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pinelands Regional, their victory bumped their record up to 23-4.

Pinelands Regional beat Barnegat 2-0 when the teams last played back in September. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bengals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
